Deliverable 1.1 - Inventory
An overview of interesting online archives of unstable media art and
of preservation-related initiatives relevant for Capturing Unstable
Media; position of V2_Organisation.
Deliverable 1.2 - Capturing strategies
Definition and typologies of electronic art activities; capturing versus
preservation of contemporary art; documentation strategies; the Capturing
Unstable Media Conceptual Model; guidelines for building and maintaining
a digital media archive; general recommendations for capturing unstable
media (see also the recommendations on this
site).
Deliverable 1.3 - Metadata
Various metadata issues related to capturing unstable media: a thesaurus
for electronic art, documentation genres, terminology for distributed
authorship, metadata for interaction and for describing interdependencies
between components of projects.
Deliverable 1.4 - Content research
Thorough research of the two major case studies of this project: whisper
by Thecla Schiphorst and Susan Kozel, and DataCloud 2.0. General study
of 8 smaller cases of artworks described in the V2_Archive.
Deliverable 2.1 - Interoperability
General observations about Capturing Unstable Media and archival interoperability;
comparison of interoperability approaches; comparing the CMCM and the
CIDOC CRM; possible entry points for archival interoperability in electronic
art.
Deliverable 2.2 - Implementation
Technical realizations for Capturing Unstable Media: an online
archive portal for V2_; an XML- and RDF-based archive.
